24th Youth International Held On Lough Conn
Ed Field with his first stalked Fallow Deer.
To protect the existing flora and fauna from enormous damage caused by the Fallow Deer, a culling programme must take place each year. Without this necessary culling, disease amongst the herd would certainly spread and it is imperative that a good herd structure is maintained.

HIGHLEADON – 12 year old advanced event gelding homebred by my mother who jointly owns him with me . He is being prepared for Badminton this spring; he starts his eventing at Gatcombe on Easter Saturday followed by runs at Burnham Market in Norfolk and Belton Park in Lincolnshire. He has competed all over England and in Germany and Ireland – he was 8th at Punchestown three day event. Highleadon is my most experienced ride this season.

Bill Field caught the first recorded pike out of Chew Valley. Bill and boat partner Allan Phillips were drifting across East bay when Bill who was fishing a team of small lures hooked what he thought was a good brownie, eventually catching site of the fish he realized it was a pike. When leaving his return of, four rainbows and a pike, staff at Bristol Water thought it was one his jokes. The pike was sent away to be examined. Results showed the fish had a treble hook already lodged in its throat and had been put into the reservoir.
