AIGLE’s BEST KEPT SECRET… FOR THE MAN WHO DOESN’T WANT COLD FEET!
Over the years I have had the mixed fortune of being given dozens of pairs of boots to try out. But I’d be hard pushed to recommend a finer pair of boots for a day’s shooting than Aigle`s Parcours ISO. I set out wearing them for the first on a lowland moor on a frosty morning, but also a doubt in my mind that any new boot would give me a day’s pleasure without a little bit of pain. I have always suffered with the cold in my feet and it can be really distracting throughout the winter months, but thanks to the ISO, I need complain no more! The insulation of the sole, coupled with the neoprene insole, does its job so well that my feet stayed perfectly warm all day. We covered many miles on foot, but at no point did I consider changing into anything else, the ISO gives the comfort and support of a walking boot. I was amazed that I could wear a brand new pair of boots without having to break them in first and at the end of a hard day I had no rubs or aches. They are tough and totally waterproof, yet they’re still flexible enough to be kind on the limbs.
There’s no doubt they’re a stylish boot, with enough width to easily accommodate my breeks and stockings. It’s good to know that if you don’t need the wide fitting like I do, there’s an adjustable strap to keep them firmly round the calf for a more slender fitting. My only criticism would be that I couldn’t quite get the hang of that very same buckle strap to begin with. Should I decide (and I surely will) to make the ISO my best friend for long days of fly fishing, I will be making my own adaptation to ensure it doesn’t keep catching my line. Such a tiny sacrifice worthwhile – as the one thing that certainly won’t be on my mind in the future is cold or soggy feet!
